Munch’s special exhibition “New Munch” in celebration of the Munch exhibition

Edvard Munch: “The Scream of the Soul” will be held at the Tokyo Metropolitan Art Museum from Saturday 27 October.
“The Scream” is a retrospective of about 100 masterpieces by Edvard Munch (1863-1944), the master of modern Western painting, who painted one of the world’s most famous paintings, The Scream. To commemorate the exhibition, Munch will present an exhibition of works by contemporary creators who were inspired by his worldview.

Twenty-two artists with a strong presence on the national and international cultural scene will be represented in this installation, expressing their Munch-inspired thoughts through a variety of methods including music, video and illustration.
